The premise

Most research on leadership measures what companies do. This one measures what CEOs experience — separately from what their companies are going through.
We ask two distinct questions. First: what's hardest about being in the CEO role right now? Second: what's hardest about the company you're leading? The gap between those two answers is where the real story is.
